I simply cannot believe it is November! Where has 2016 gone? While it has flown by even faster than normal, I do feel slightly more prepared for the holidays than prior years. Maybe it’s having a little boy to get excited for this time around that really changes things. And while I have been having a blast planning for his first mobile Christmas, I have also been thinking a little about myself (and you too)! It can be hard navigating the green beauty world, and it is not always cheap. But that’s why you wait until Christmas. You may not even know what to ask for, so I made a Green Beauty Wish List: gift guide for the health-minded beauty lover. This is not just for my loved ones to get me, but for everybody that asks just what you want this holiday. Just have this link ready to email at Thanksgiving! ;)
Skin Care
If you are looking to up your skincare game and want something tried and true, I can not recommend Blissoma enough. If you have never heard of them and want to try a bunch of their products, they sell complete gift sets with sample sizes by skin type at a very reasonable price. But if you already know the power of Blissoma, you can ask for a full-size gift set as well! If you just want one amazing product to make a huge difference, I highly suggest their Timeless Serum. I never thought I would ever take a makeup-less selfie, much less share it on social media, but Timeless changed all that. Their Free Herbal Gel Cleanser, the Restore Healing Oil are must-haves, and don’t forget about their free shipping!
I want to try the Healing & Hydrating Manuka Mask from La Bella Figura. With Raw Manuka Honey, Barbary Fig Seed Oil, Rosehips, Jasmine, Calendula and Tumeric, it calms redness and soothes irritation for dry, irritated and winter-abused skin. Sounds perfect. I have been hearing amazing things about Uma Oils and would love to try their Absolute Anti-Aging Body Oil. It is packed full of skin loving essential oils and pomegranate fruit oil to help protect my eczema/psoriasis from environmental factors in the dry winter. And I have my eye on Odacite’s Intensive Hand and Heel Therapy to keep my hands and feet soft and healthy. If you are looking for more trial skin care kits like above, The Detox Market has several to choose from including brands Odacite, Tammy Fender, Pai and Kahina.
Makeup
Now for me personally, I really want makeup! Mostly because I just started to Detox My Makeup Routine, so I still have a lot of experimenting to do to find my favorites. For foundation, I am DYING to try the Gressa Corrective Serum Foundation (shade #2, please). It is like a skin care treatment and makeup in one! Skin-loving ingredients like Melissa extract and Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil combine for full-coverage with a lightweight feel and semi-matte finish= my dream foundation.
I swear, there is a whole new world opened to me with clean makeup. I am lusting HARD over the Eye Soot from Rituel de Fille in Sigil (warm champagne pink) and Serpent De Mer (burnt taupey violet). It is an eye shadow and liner cream to powder concoction made completely without wax, just oils and pure pigments. So it doesn’t melt or crease. Yaaaaaaasssss!
I have been on the search for a cleaner mascara. Far and away the most raves are heard loud and clear about Lily Lolo’s Black Vegan Mascara, so I had to add this to my list. But I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I absolutely love faux lashes. I can’t wait to try the Battington Vegan Silk Lashes in Harlow, along with True Glue All Natural Lash Adhesive. Finally, I’m still looking for the right color to replace my perfect reddish rosy brown nude lipstick because it’s hard for red hair! But I am really liking the color of Devotion in Axiology’s Vegan Lipstick line.
Subscription Boxes/Gift Cards
So, after all those awesome suggestions, what if you still don’t know what to ask for? Why don’t you try a beauty subscription box like the Terre Bella from cratejoy.com. It is a monthly fee for 3-4 all handmade, artisanal, all natural bath and beauty products. Or you can choose the makeup edit for just cosmetic products.
If you’re still on the fence about exactly what you want, but you know you want be green beauty, ask for a specific gift card! At Blissoma gift certificates come in $10 increments. I always get free samples with each order, and love racking up loyalty points and free shipping. A gift card from Follain comes in $25 increments. Every order gets two free samples and orders over $49 ship free. With a Detox Market gift card, you accumulate loyalty points and can count on hassle free returns. They also offer a sample program where you can request samples of any 5 items for $9.99! Just order samples until you decide what you can’t live without.
Now that I have put all of this down, how am I ever going to decide what I want? Good thing my birthday is less than a month after Christmas! Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comments what is on your Christmas List!
